And still, it remains menelusuri sejarah Peradaban Awal di Kampung Mertoutek, Aljazair, tempat migran bermukim dan membentuk komunitas, hingga kedatangan bangsa Prancis yang kemudian meninggalkan warisan kontaminasi radioaktif yang menghantui kampung mereka.

And still, it remains chronicles the history of civilisation in Mertoutek, Algeria, where migrants came and communities were formed, then the French came and left behind a legacy of radioactive contamination that still haunts the village.

Director’s Biography / Biografi Sutradara

Arwa Aburawa adalah seorang seniman yang karyanya mengeksplorasi ras, lingkungan, dan warisan kolonialisme melalui film. Karyanya telah dipamerkan di berbagai tempat seperti Humber Street Gallery dan Brent Biennial 2022, dan ia telah berkolaborasi dengan Art on the Underground, National Portrait Gallery, OOMK, dan AJE. Bersama Turab Shah, Aburawa mendirikan Other Cinemas, sebuah proyek di London yang menampilkan karya para pembuat film kulit hitam dan non-kulit putih melalui program pemutaran film komunitas gratis dan sekolah film selama setahun.

Turab Shah adalah seorang pembuat film dan direktur fotografi yang memegang gelar MA dalam Sinematografi dari MetFilm School. Ia memiliki minat khusus pada warisan kolonialisme. Karyanya beragam, mulai dari film dokumenter untuk AJE hingga karya gambar bergerak untuk Humber Street Gallery, TfL/Art on the Underground, dan Brent Biennial 2022, serta film fiksi independen kecil. Bersama dengan Arwa Aburawa, Shah ikut mendirikan Other Cinemas, sebuah proyek di London yang menampilkan karya para pembuat film kulit hitam dan non-kulit putih melalui program pemutaran film komunitas gratis dan sekolah film selama setahun.

rwa Aburawa is an artist whose work explores race, the environment, and the legacies of colonialism through film. Her work has been exhibited in spaces such as Humber Street Gallery and the Brent Biennial 2022, and she has collaborated with Art on the Underground, the National Portrait Gallery, OOMK, and AJE. Together with Turab Shah, Aburawa co-founded Other Cinemas, a project in London that showcases the work of Black and non-white filmmakers through a free community screening programme and a year-long film school.

Turab Shah is a filmmaker and director of photography who holds an MA in Cinematography from MetFilm School. He has a particular interest in the legacies of colonialism. His body of work ranges from documentaries for AJE to moving-image works for Humber Street Gallery, TfL/Art on the Underground, and the Brent Biennial 2022, as well as small independent fiction films. Together with Arwa Aburawa, Shah co-founded Other Cinemas, a project in London that showcases the work of Black and non-white filmmakers through a free community screening programme and a year-long film school.
