Sinopsis / Synopsis

Chang Gyeong, sebuah istana yang menjadi saksi bisu atas dibangunnya kebun binatang pada era perang dingin di Korea. Berpedoman pada buku 80 Tahun Sejarah Flora dan Fauna Korea, film ini secara sensori mengeksplorasi kemungkinan spekulatif atas pengalaman hewan-hewan di kebun binatang, dan kondisi mereka yang tersiksa selama berlangsungya perang dingin.

Chang Gyeong, a palace that silently witnessed the construction of a zoo during the Cold War era in Korea. Based on the book “80 Years of History of Korean Flora and Fauna,” this film sensorially explores the speculative possibilities of the experiences of zoo animals and their tortured conditions during the Cold War.

Director’s Biography / Biografi Sutradara

Lee Jangwook belajar pembuatan film di School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). Ia telah berkarya dengan materi film dan mengembangkan sinema seperti pertunjukan film langsung. Pada tahun 2004, Space Cells didirikan untuk mengadakan lokakarya film eksperimental dan pembuatan film tangan, dan saat ini masih berlangsung. Banyak karya yang diarsipkan di Arsip Film Korea dan ACC.

Lee Jangwook studied filmmaking at the School the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). He has been working on film materials and expanded cinema such as live film performance. In 2004, Space Cells was founded to hold experimental films and hand-made film workshops and is currently underway. Many of the works are archived in the Korea Film Archive and ACC.
