Satsuo Yamamoto (1910–1983) adalah seorang sutradara film Jepang yang memadukan realisme sosial-politik ke dalam melodrama dan film aksi. Memulai kariernya di Shochiku dan Toho, ia mendapatkan pengakuan atas film-filmnya yang sangat anti-otoriter, dipengaruhi oleh pengalamannya selama perang di Manchuria. Sebagai mantan anggota Liga Film Proletar Jepang (Prokino), Yamamoto sering membawa kepekaan kiri ke dalam film-film arus utamanya.
Satsuo Yamamoto (1910–1983) is a Japanese film director who wove socio-political realism into melodrama and action cinema. Beginning his career at Shochiku and Toho, he gained recognition for his strongly anti-authoritarian films, influenced by his wartime experience fighting in Manchuria. As a former member of the Proletarian Film League of Japan (Prokino), Yamamoto often brought a leftist sensibility into his mainstream cinema.
