ARKIPEL
Jakarta International Documentary & Experimental Film Festival
The Curatorial Program is a core segment of the ARKIPEL festival. It consists of curated film presentations assembled by invited curators and members of Forum Lenteng to articulate artistic visions and theoretical frameworks that resonate with the festival’s annual theme. These programs go beyond mere screening sequences; they operate as discursive frameworks that connect cinematic works to broader cultural, historical, and sensory concerns. Within ARKIPEL, the Curatorial Program also functions as a critical instrument through which the festival reads and articulates contemporary global phenomena and their entanglements with historical contexts—both the histories of socio-economic and political life, and the aesthetic histories of cinema itself.
